Transferring contacts between two accounts is a fairly straightforward process. You can either:
Change the information on an existing Cardtapp account through the app settings and dashboard to be replaced with the User's information who will be taking over the existing Cardtapp User's contacts
Use the import/export contacts combined with the mass texting feature to quickly move all the information and re-send an App Share text message.
No matter which method you use, we've detailed the steps below.
Method 1: Change the app information for the existing user's account through app settings and the dashboard
This is the recommended method, as it is the simplest way to manage the continuity of relationships and ensure a smooth transition for existing contacts in a Cardtapp account.
Steps to complete this process:
All you have to do is change the account information on the existing User's mobile app and replace it with the new user's information.
This will make the information associated with the existing Cardtapp User's account no longer visible and be replaced by the User's information who will be taking over this license.
Method 1 – Important Information
No action is required by the End User (ie. Tappers, Leads, Contacts, or Referral Partners) to re-install a new app. Once the information has been updated on the existing Cardtapp User's account (ie. Mobile App), the next time an End User opens the app, it will reflect the updated information.
This is recommended when the existing Cardtapp user account and contacts will be transitioned to a User (ie. Team Member) who does not already have a Cardtapp account. (Example: Bob is retiring and Jim is a new Sales Rep/Loan Officer/Agent taking over the account and Jim does not have an existing Cardtapp account).
Method 2: Use export/import features combined with our mass texting (SMS Campaigns) feature
This method does require the SMS Campaigns / Mass Texting feature to be enabled, but it can be a helpful tool for moving contacts between two user accounts.
Steps to complete this process:
1. Download the app contacts from the desktop dashboard
2. Then, import the .CSV file to the existing user's Desktop Dashboard using the "Import Contacts" feature. Here's a helpful article that walks through this process

Method 2 – Important Information
Action is required by the End User (ie. Tappers, Leads, Contacts, or Referral Partners) to re-install a new app link to the home screen of their phone.
This is recommended when the existing Cardtapp user account and contacts will be transitioned to a User (ie. Team Member) who does already have a Cardtapp account. (Example: Bob is retiring and Jim is an existing Sales Rep/Loan Officer/Agent taking over the account and Jim does have an existing Cardtapp account).
